Success Story
Coop Norge: Automated planning and inventory management thanks to perpetual inventory
Challenge
At Coop Norge, the inventory was only fully recorded at the end of the year, as part of an annual counting routine.
The resulting lack of inventory visibility on most products, hindered full use of SAP F&R, with only 25% of the sales sensibly managed with this tool.
Complex architecture with the point-of sale system as primary and SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) as secondary system
Almost all movements were handled by the POS software
Poor user experience: several applications with many clicks
Inconsistent app design
Solution & Benefits
SAP Forecast & Replenishment
Fully automated forecasting and replenishment with SAP F&R has been increased to more than 70 % of the total product range and continues to grow.
Solution
A suite of PDA and desktop Applications:
Goods Receipt, Returns, Store Transfers, Cycle, Exception
Ad Hoc and Annual counting applications
Manager review, recount and approval process for annual counts
Benefits
Return architecture to SAP Best Practice with ECC as primary system, utilising new and existing SAP technologies
Enhanced user experience with less clicks, relevant information, asynchronous processing and optimal control of inventory
Consistent and uniform approach to app design and functionality
Increase utilisation of SAP F&R with better control of inventory
